Give Us the Coins that We've Earned Please - Desiree Coleman-Fry - Gender Pay Gap

The Racial & Gender Pay Gap

If we’re connected on LinkedIn, then you know I love sharing my views on racial equity, gender equality and of course, the racial and gender pay gap.

I’m sharing an article I wrote for LinkedIn about the fact that Black women lose $1M over a lifetime, due to the gender and racial wage gap. This astounding figure comes from the National Women’s Law Center who report that, “Black women’s gender pay gap has only closed three cents in 30 years. Over time, this adds up to a typical loss of $24,110 dollars a year or nearly $1M over a 40-year career.” These statistics are sobering and highlight the need to close the racial and gender wage gap.

Focusing on access, equity and opportunity for Black women (and all women!) is essential. So, check out my article, “Give Me the Coins I’ve Earned, Please” and let me know your thoughts. I would love to hear your perspective, so please share below.
