Motherhood looks different in various seasons of life. As I’m reflecting on motherhood, I realize that I went from being a nuclear family parent to a coparent to a step parent to a bonus parent… And guess what – it’s ALL GOOD!
God has offered me grace for every challenge, very season and every transition of parenting. And I’m grateful for the young minds that I have responsibility for.
I appreciate the opportunity to listen to them, to learn from them, to challenge them, to help them, to laugh with them, and to grow with them. All four of them. I don’t take for granted the gift that motherhood is and I’m just grateful that through every season and every change, no matter how uncertain it may feel, by asking questions, by reading and by getting insight from my village, it’s always worked out.
Motherhood is HARD and it’s a constant source of personal growth and development. Being a mom challenges me to reflect on my attitude, perspective and demeanor. It forces me to examine my heart and become the best version of myself possible. I’m thankful for the opportunity to pour into my children and help them mature. So, in reflection, this Mother’s Day, I’m most grateful for grace. Grace sustains, heals, and revives.
What about you? What are you grateful for?
